Car Care Tips

Oil Change

We recommend that conventional oil should be changed every 3,000 miles.
Synthetic oil should be changed every 5,000 miles.

Tune-ups

A tune up is regularly scheduled, usually once a year, to do all of the preventative maintenance that needs to be done on your vehicle. Regular tune-ups ensure the performance of your car, fuel efficiency and extend its life.

A tune up generally includes replacement of several parts on your car. Failing to replace them regularly can cause decreased performance in your car, and may even lead to other problems.

Tires

Many tires have tread wear indicator bars molded into the tread. When the tread is worn down a solid bar of rubber across the width of the tread becomes visible, which means it is time to replace the tire. You can also place a penny into a tread groove with Lincoln's head upside down and facing you. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it's time for new tires.

Belts and Hoses

Sooner or later your vehicle's engine accessory drive belts and coolant hoses will dry out and crack. Over time, belts and hoses lose their ability to properly expand and contract.

A sudden malfunction of these relatively inexpensive, but very important parts can result in costly consequences. Potential problems can be detected with a simple visual inspection. Regular inspections, coupled with timely belt and hose replacement in accordance with your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations, will help protect against expensive repairs.

Brakes

Regular brake inspections should be part of your vehicle's ongoing maintenance. In fact, brakes should be inspected at least once a year or if you experience any of the following:

  • Low or soft brake pedal
  • Hard brake pedal
  • Pedal vibration
  • Grabbing or pulling
  • Brake warning light that stays on
  • Continuously squealing or grinding brakes

Engine

An engine is need of regular maintenance so that there will no problems or damage that will occur in the parts of the car engine. In single car engine, there are more than 40 parts that needs of maintenance. But mostly, regular oil changes are important because it is one of the things that determine the performance and life of the car. It must be checked regularly or before a long trip. Regular engine check can protect your car's engine and the lives of you and your passengers.
